BCIS Before and After School Care

Boardman Center Intermediate School Before and After School Child Care will begin the first day of school and end on the last day. The program hours are 6:30 a.m. until 8:50 a.m., and from 3:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. The cost is $5.00 per hour for the first child, $4.00 for the second child and $3.50 per hour for a third child. Please complete the Before/After School Weekly Schedule each week and return it to our After School Staff before the start of the week. (To access this printable Schedule, please click the Before/After School link below). Students who are dropped off in the morning for before-school care should enter through Door #21, which is in the back of the school, across from the main entrance. And parents picking their children up in the late afternoon, should also go inside of Door #21. When school is closed due to weather or because of vacation days, the child care program is also closed.

Immunization Required Immunizations Before 7th Grade

Ohio law requires that children who attend a public or non-public school be immunized against certain vaccine-preventable illnesses to help prevent the spread of communicable diseases amongst the children and the public. The Ohio Department of Health, at the recommendation of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), has issued the following additional immunization requirement for all seventh graders:

All 6th grade students are required to have the following vaccinations administered prior to their first day of 7th grade:

One dose of TDaP
and
One dose of meningococcal (sero group A, C, W and Y).

These immunizations must be received prior to the start of the 2016-17 school year. Please contact your physician to schedule an appointment, or vaccines can be obtained at the Mahoning County Board of Health: (330) 270-2855, ext. 125.

Once your child has received the vaccine, please forward a copy of your child's immunization record to the school nurse. Please submit this record separate from records given to coaches.

Ohio law allows a 14 school day period for compliance with the immunization requirement. Please provide the needed information by the first day of school. As of September 19, 2016, students whose records are incomplete will not be able to attend classes until the needed documentation is provided to the school.

Principal's Message

We welcome all staff, students and families to the new Boardman Center Intermediate School! I would like to start by personally thanking each and every volunteer, staff member and student who helped to transform our building into what I believe is an absolute amazing place for kids. An enormous amount of cosmetic improvements have taken place throughout this past summer, and we are very excited to host ALL of Boardman’s 5th and 6th graders in our beautifully-updated building and into what will be an exciting and fun 2016-17 school year.

Along with the indoor updates, we now have a beautiful, outdoor “green space,” and numerous, colorful murals to provide an even more fun and inviting atmosphere for our area 5th and 6th graders. Other exciting “firsts” to mention include our new Before and After School Care Program, and the addition of Recess to our school day. This truly is an exciting time for Boardman students, and we plan to make their days with us filled with exceptional education, as well as completed with laughter and lasting friendships.  Let’s make this a great year!
