STUDENTS PLANT TREE FOR PATRIOT DAY

patriot day 2018

On September 11, 2018, more than 350 students from Stadium Drive Elementary held a Patriot Day Celebration at the New Boardman Fire Station #71.

This year marks the 17th Anniversary of the September 11th Attacks that killed 2,977 people.  The Patriot Day Tree Planting has been a tradition at Stadium Drive Elementary. In honor of the new fire station and plans for a safety forces memorial there, the K-4 students will plant this year’s tree at Boardman Station #71.   Blasco Commercial Services donated a purple plum tree to be planted.

The event included a flag presentation ceremony, welcomes from Boardman Fire Chief Mark Pitzer and Boardman Police Chief Todd Werth, along with time for emergency service personnel to talk to the children.
