Center Intermediate Students Donate to Safety Services Memorial

students present check to Chief Pitzer

More than 80 fifth graders  from Boardman Center Intermediate's Maroon Team made a special donation at the new Fire Station 71 on Patriot Day.  Students and Staff collected $150 to go toward building a safety services memorial.  The township hopes to break ground on the memorial in Spring, 2019.

The students presented the check to Fire Chief Mark Pitzer, then took a tour of the new station.  The tour was interupted by a real fire call, so students got a glimpse into a firefighter's life.  Teachers involved with this project include Mrs. Tomcsanyi, Mrs. Ritter, Miss DeAngelo,  Mrs. Shirilla and Mrs. Cretella.
