BOARDMAN AWARDED TURNING FOUNDATION GRANT

Carrie Hurd, Tim Harker, Todd Smith, Bart Smith Chelsea Wisbar Grant team

The Turning Foundation Grant will pay for 14 Chromebook Laptops, and App Creation Software for 30 seat licenses.  It will enable groups of 6th and 8th graders from Boardman to collaborate with similar age students in Tailand.

This project will raise global awareness around one of the UN Sustainable Goals and its impact on a foreign country.  The UN Sustainable Development Goals address the global challenges we face, including those related to poverty, inequality, climate, environmental degradation, prosperity, and peace and justice.

The Boardman students will create an app with two purposes:  Raising Awareness  on the UN Goal as it affects Thailand's students , as well as "Answering the Call" that will elicit data and ideas to address the goal.
