Beginning in the 2022-23 school year, biometric finger scanners will be used in all Boardman K-8 buildings to make the lunch line move faster and allow students more time to eat.
Center Intermediate School piloted the biometric scanners in its cafeteria this school year and it was a great success. Parents with questions about how the scanners work may Click Here for Complete Biometric Scanner Details.

Students will still be encouraged to know and memorize their lunch number. However, the finger scanners should eliminate the delays caused by lost and damaged lunch cards, and the cost for parents to replace them.
HAPPENING THIS MAY: In order for this new process to start off successfully, each student will have to have his/her thumb or index finger scanned. We plan on doing this over several days from May 16-May 25, 2022. The goal is to implement this new system when students return in August for the 22-23 school year.
