Dear Parents/Guardians,

It is with great pleasure that I officially welcome you and your child to the 2020-2021 school year at Boardman Center Middle School.  This year will be unique; some of you will be attending in-person and some online.  Our goal is to provide you with the best instructional and educational experience possible, regardless of the option you have chosen.

Our teachers will be posting virtual open house videos to our school's web site with more specific information.  These videos will be available starting September 4th.

Materials for our online learners may be picked up at the BCIS large gym on September 8th, 9th or 10th between the hours of 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.

We have also scheduled times for our students who would like to drop off school supplies in their homerooms' (before the first day of in-person learning, September 14th):

               4th Grade: September 10th, 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm or 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

               5th Grade: September 9th, 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

               6th Grade: September 9th, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

For those students who are unable to drop off supplies during these times, they can always bring in supplies over the course of the first week of school.  Supply lists are on our website and being mailed home August 28, 2020.  Please keep in mind that a mask, if you are in-person, is also required.

At the beginning of each school year there is a considerable amount of information that will be making its way home for both in-person and online learners.  For administrative purposes, the Emergency Medical Form and Enrollment Form must be completed and properly authorized.  Please be certain to include the name(s) of persons who we may contact in the event that we are unable to reach you.  This is extremely helpful should an emergency arise.

Safety is always a primary concern at BCIS and because of this, we are asking that all parents who will be dropping off their children at BCIS in the morning enter our building Via the Stadium Drive Entrance (behind the football stadium).

No cars will be permitted to enter via the Market Street entrance.  School personnel will guide you to the student drop off area.  In the afternoon, we ask that you park in the designated spaces and wait there for your child to be excused once the buses have vacated the parking lot.

Busing will be provided for in-person learners.  Bus numbers are included in the letter being mailed home August 28, 2020.  Pick up times will vary the first week of school (9:10 am - 9:45 am).  You will get a better idea of specifically when your bus will arrive after a couple of days.

Due to supervision reasons, students not enrolled in our before care program may be dropped off starting at 9:30 am.  Before Care will be available 6:30 am - 9:30 am for $5.00/hour for the first child, $2.00/hour for the second child and $1.50/hour for the third child.  After School Care will be available 3:32 pm - 6:30 pm.

Thank you for your cooperation and assistance with ensuring the safety of our students.  Once again, welcome back to BCIS and I hope you enjoy the last couple weeks of summer.
