Sen. Peggy Lehner (R-Kettering), chairwoman of both the Senate Education Committee and Senate Advisory Committee on Testing, said http://sact.ohiosenate.gov is now online and ready to take public suggestions on how Ohio should address the controversial topic of educational assessments.

Best Community for Music Education Award

The NAMM Foundation recently recognized Boardman for being one of the "Best Communities for Music Education in America" for 2015.  This is the third time Boardman has been honored with this award and the only local district in the tri-county area to hold this distinction.  The Boardman School District in recent years was also recognized as a Grammy Award school based upon our outstanding K-12 music program.  Congratulations to Boardman's Music Educators for the passion they have for their art and their dedication to the children of our community.

School Calendar 2015-16

The school year will begin a week earlier in 2015 due to the lateness of Labor Day.  The Board of Education adopted the 2015-16 school calendar at its regular January meeting.  This calendar is the "traditional" Boardman calendar except for the earlier start.  That means that we have not shortened our spring recess the way that many other area schools have.
