Spartan Message

Principal Alphonse Cervello

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to West Boulevard Elementary for the 2019-2020 school year.  The teachers and cleaning staff have been working very hard during the summer getting the building ready for the children to return.  We are looking forward to a wonderful year with many new friends.

News & Announcements

In an effort to clear up any confusion and insure student safety, we are making a slight change to the morning drop off procedures.  Beginning Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, the attendant will post a sign at 8:00 a.m. advising you that your student is now late and you will need to park and come into the building to sign-in your child(ren). Please allow yourself enough time to have your child in school before 8:00 a.m.

Reminder:  When dropping off students before 8:00 a.m., please do not pull to the front of the parking lot as this is reserved for our buses.  Please follow the drop off line in the rear of the lot. After 8:00 a.m., please pull into a parking space.

FREE BOOK EXCHANGE book exchange

We now have a free book exchange program for students. Book exchange shelves are at the end of each classroom hallway. Students may donate a gently used book and "exchange" it for another book. Students are asked to only use the shelf that is at the end of their classroom hallway. Students may exchange books as often as they like as long as they replace it with another gently used book.

If anyone has any books they would like to donate to this program, please send them to school for Mrs. Oyler. Thank you!

New Germ Fighting Tool For West Boulevard Elementary

West Boulevard Elementary is getting a boost to its germ-fighting arsenal-- thanks to a donation from the PTA.  The PTA purchased an electrostatic sprayer that can disinfect areas more quickly, and also sanitize hard-to-get-to places and objects.  For instance, Nurse Melanie Cochran shows how letter magnets can be sprayed, and within a minute, the solution evaporates, but still thoroughly covers and disinfects.

This year West Blvd. Elementary will be participating in the "Cash for Cans" program sponsored by The Green Team. For each bag of aluminum drinking cans a student brings in, he or she will be entered into a monthly drawing for a prize. Students can receive multiple entries for the drawing based on the number of bags they bring in.

The drop off dates for bags of cans are:

Monday, Oct. 14, Monday, Nov. 18, Monday, Dec. 16, Friday, Jan. 17, Thursday, Feb. 13, Monday, March 16, Monday, April 20
