Reminder to Boardman families currently without internet service or access:  The Broadband Connectivity Grant Allows for you to apply through your school district for assistance to have access to internet at home.

School Board Organizes for the New Year Re-elected board members sworn in for another 4 year term

The Boardman School Board held its Organizational Meeting on Wednesday, January 12.   Re-elected in November, John Fryda, Vickie Davis, and John Landers renewed their oath of office to serve another 4 year term. 

As part of the organizational meeting, the board also voted unanimously, naming  John Landers Board President and John Fryda as Board Vice President.

Attention Spartans,

Friday, January 28  will be a waiver day in the Boardman Local School District.  Teachers will report for a full day of professional development.

There is no school for students district wide on January 28th.

Superintendent Saxton explains the updated CDC and Ohio Department of Health guidelines that allow for a faster return to work or school with certain conditions. Boardman Local Schools will follow these guidelines beginning January 5, and until further notice.

The rules for exposure in a school setting have not changed.  At this time, masks continue to be mandatory inside school buildings during the school day and on buses at all times.

BHS Students Create Non-Profit for Student Led Tutoring and Support Superintendent Saxton, Vincent Dong and Austin Ward

Spartan Proud of BHS juniors Vincent Dong and Austin Ward.  They presented to Valley school  superintendents on October 13 at the ESC of Eastern Ohio.  They founded "Cognitia" -- a student lead national non-profit --  to supply free tutoring and educational support to students K-12.

Pancakes with the Principal Mr. Cervello with Pancakes group

West is starting a new tradition this year...Pancakes with the Principal.

It will be a monthly event recognizing  students for kindness and good character.  Mr. Cervello whips up the batter, makes the pancakes on the griddle, and serves them up with whip cream and sprinkles.
