PROJECT MAYHEM ROCKS ON MARCH 22 project mayhem flier 2019

The Boardman High School Rock Orchestra will perform its 13th annual “Project Mayhem” event on Friday, March 22.  This 2-hour Rock Show combines the talents of the Boardman Orchestra, chart topping songs performed by the Boardman Choir, and a laser light show put on by Lightwave International of Pittsburgh.  It's been a sold-out performance for the past two years.

Congratulations to our February Cash for Cans Winners!!! February Cash for Cans

Four of our outstanding students were recently recognized for bringing in cans for our Cash for Cans Drive. For each bag of aluminum drinking cans a student brings in, he or she will be entered into a monthly drawing for a prize! This month's winners received Spartan backpacks inscribed with the three R's: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Special Person's Luncheon to Begin this March! Special Person

The students and staff would like to invite ONE special person PER CHILD to West Blvd. Elementary School's 14th Annual "Special Person's Luncheon." Each grade level has been designated a day in March to invite someone special for lunch. No outside food is to be brought to school for lunch purposes. The cost of an adult lunch is $2.00, please try to pre-pay so our lunch schedule can be followed as much as possible.  Click below to view the Special Person's Lunch calendar. 

World Down Syndrome Day - March 21st Rock your Socks

On Thursday, March 21, 2019, the staff and students at West Blvd. Elementary are going to "Rock Their Socks" by wearing wacky and or mismatched socks in honor of World Down Syndrome Day. March 21st is intentionally recognized as World Down Syndrome Day in an effort to signify the third copy of the 21st chromosome. In honor of that extra chromosome let's Rock our socks and show how much fun a little extra can bring. 

COIN WARS - MARCH 18th to 22nd Piggy bank

Students are asked to bring in loose change during the week of March 18th so that they can help their grade level compete in the West Blvd Elementary "Coin Wars" competition. Collection jars can be found in the main hallway outside of the office. The grade level who collects the most money will get to have a popsicle treat in the spring!

All money collected will go to DSAV (Down Syndrome Association of the Valley) 

Third and Fourth Grade Students Visit Glenwood Junior High To Learn About 3D Printing! Mr. Harker's Tech Lab

16 students (8 from grade 3 and 8 from grade 4) were hand selected by Principal Cervello to spearhead a "Spartan Chess Set" incentive program. The members of this group are tasked with designing a Spartan themed chess set and then use a 3D Printer to construct their design. Recently the West Blvd. "Chess Club", visited Mr. Harker's Technology Lab where students learned how to use 3D software and received an up close look at how 3D printers operate. 

HELP OUR SCHOOL SAVE OUR PLANET! Recycle Clipart

This year West Blvd. Elementary will be participating in the "Cash for Cans" program sponsored by The Green Team. Once a month students are invited to bring in a bag of aluminum drinking cans. For each bag of aluminum drinking cans a student brings in, he or she will be entered into a monthly drawing for a prize! Students can receive multiple entries for the drawing based on the number of bags they bring in.
