Dear Parents/Guardians, August 27, 2020
Welcome to West Boulevard Elementary for the 2020-21 school year! The entire West Blvd. staff is looking forward to getting to know their new students and parents. More than ever, we are going to have to communicate and work together to provide all students with the best possible education. We have done it in the past and will do it again this year.
The new school hours for elementary students will be 7:50 a.m. to 1:10 p.m. Procedures have been implemented to reduce the number of students within the hallway at any specific time throughout the day, which includes bus arrival, departure, and student drop-off and pick-up.
When buses arrive at school, students will depart and move directly to their classrooms. When students arrive by car (student drop off will be in the back of the building coming off of Crestview Drive) and get dropped off at the appropriate door, they will move directly to their classroom. This is new so please be patient with the flow of traffic until the best procedure can be determined. Dismissal will be staggered by bus arrival times and students being picked up by a parent will exit through the East end (playground side) doors.
Your teachers are planning on having an interactive virtual open house during the week of September 8th. More information regarding items such as lunch, recess, specials and daily student activities within the classroom will be discussed then. Know that the entire West Blvd. staff has gone to great lengths to ensure your child’s safety and health while providing them with the education that West Blvd. parents, students, and staff come to expect.
For those parents who opted for the remote educational platform, it is important that your child take advantage of every opportunity to work with the teacher. The expectations for our remote learners are high and without parental support, it will fail.
Looking forward to seeing everyone’s new mask. Please have the boys and girls practice wearing them prior to the start of the school year. Thank you in advance!
