Little Spartans Learn Important Lessons at Safety Village

learning about bus safety

Nearly 140 incoming Kindergarten students experienced Safety Village on Thursday, August 10.  This  fun hands-on event was held in the parking lot of Glenwood Jr. High.  It allows our newest Spartans to interact with Boardman safety forces and learn valuable lessons as they prepared to start school.

Groups of students participated in stations  from 9AM until Noon that included crafts and lessons on bus and fire safety.  A 9 building “Safety Village” that was constructed by  Boardman High School Students was once again erected in the Glenwood parking lot  to run the kids through bike safety lessons, and the rules of the road.  The Boardman Fire Department Smokehouse, a Fire Truck, and  School Bus was there for the kids to experience all the safety rules and to learn to make smart and safe decisions.
