The Wedding Singer Marries Energy and Fun on Stage

You don’t have to be a child of  the 80s to appreciate the great music, dancing and fun found in Boardman High School’s Fall Musical--The Wedding Singer.  A cast and crew of more than 60 students delighted audiences  at the Boardman Performing Arts Center November 16, 17, and 18.

Based on the popular Adam Sandler Movie, The Wedding Singer centers on rock star wannabe, Robbie Hart, who’s wedding singer magic turns to disaster after he gets left at the altar.  The musical features a large chorus with many featured roles for actors who sing, and dancers who act--perfect for the many talented students found at Boardman.

“The cast has been working very hard, 25-30 hours per week, and it shows,” said Director Katelyn Deladurantey.  “The 80s are back in style right now, in fact many of the students in the cast already had the 80s band t-shirts in their closets at home.  They are excited about the music and audiences will love the energy they bring to the story.”
