Boardman Center Intermediate School is introducing the National Hour of Code to all 5th and 6th graders this week, December 4-7. During hour-long sessions, students will have an opportunity to begin trying out their coding skills in the Tech Lab at Center.
Lisa Smith, Executive Director of ACCESS will be a guest speaker during the week. Lisa will share her experiences working in the field of coding, and now as Director of one of 23 informational Technology Centers for the Ohio Department of Education.
The Hour of Code is an attempt to teach students the basics of computer programming in 60 minutes in a fun, simple way. National Code Week is a global movement designed to demystify “code” and broaden participation in the field of computer science.
