JA It's My Future program was taught to the entire 7th grade at Glenwood Jr. High on October 8. The Boardman Rotary funded the program for all 16 classes, reaching a total of 366 students.
The students were taught by 22 community business mentors from diverse careers, who volunteered their time to share their experience. Lawyers, artists, financial experts, medical professionals, entrepreneurs, and business leaders were represented.
JA It's My Future provides students with practical information to help them to prepare for the working world while still in middle school. Through 6 hands on lessons, students explore their skills and interest. They learn about working environment, with the goal of building job hunting tools, soft skills, work ethic and professionalism.
