SPARTAN FOOTBALL PLAYERS RECOGNIZED FOR BRAINS AND BRAWN

ACADEMIC ALL OHIO SELFIE

Congratulations to Boardman High School’s  Spartan Football Team. The Ohio High School Football Coaches Association has recognized  22 lettermen as an Academic All Ohio Team. Seven of the 22 had perfect 4.0 GPA’s in the first semester of 2018. Together, the teammates’ average GPA is a 3.75.

The OHSFCA also recognized senior Tino Arcuri as an Individual Academic All Ohio Player.  Arcuri is among a handful of local athletes to receive this award for 2018. He has signed to play football  for Army and attend West Point Academy next Fall.

“The award reads ‘academic and athletic excellence’ and that combination makes me very proud of our team,” said head football coach Joe Ignazio.  “It really means a lot to our guys, since Boardman’s academics are rigorous and our players have to be very focused and work hard to excel to such a degree.”
