Chiropractor Dr. Kyle Muir with 6 BGJHS students after a lunch and learn

Glenwood Jr. High is starting something new this year to help students connect with potential careers.  Professionals and skilled trades workers will be featured during "lunch and learn" sessions at least once a month.

The first guest was Dr. Kyle Muir, a chiropractor who recently opened his own practice on Boardman Canfield Road in Boardman.   He visited on November 14, and met with a half dozen students over their lunch period. Dr. Muir brought a wide array of props to show the skeleton and vertebrae, and students had many questions about life as a chiropractor.

“We are working with career counselors from Mahoning County, and inviting different professionals and skilled trades workers to come into the school and talk to our kids in an informal setting,” said Glenwood guidance counselor Courtney Abruzzino.  “Students sign up for the careers that interest them, and in this first one, many interested in the medical field were really eager to ask questions.”
