• Alert:

    Governor DeWine has ordered the continued closure of K-12 schools through May 1st. We will continue remote learning as an option.  The scheduled spring break (April 10-19) will be observed.  There will be no new instruction during break. Remote learning will resume April 20.

job opportunity graphic, hiring new parent mentor position

 The Boardman Local School District is happy to announce that it has been awarded Ohio’s Parent Mentor Project grant from The Ohio Department of Education!  This $25,000 grant allows Boardman Local Schools to hire a part-time parent mentor to provide free support and resources to families of children with disabilities.


Parent mentors must reside in the district, and must have a child with a disability who was, or is serviced through an Individualized Education Program (IEP). 

Parent mentor duties may include: 

-Attending IEP meetings at the request of families

-Hosting informational sessions for families 

-Connecting families with local service organizations 

-Providing information to families about federal, state, and local special education law and policies

-Sharing special education updates with relevant stakeholders
