Special Education is a SERVICE not a Place...
The Boardman Local Schools currently services approximately 750 identified special education students that reside in our district. A full continuum of services are provided for identified students in all (6) buildings within our district as well as St. Charles Catholic School. Our preschool programs are located at the elementary buildings and supported by the Eastern Ohio Educational Service Center.
Child Find
The Boardman Local Schools is required to locate all children who may have disabilities, ages birth through 21, who reside within its boundaries. Special Education services are available in our schools for any child identified with a disability ages 3 through 21. If you have a child or know of a child you suspect may have a disability under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act or Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and who reside in Boardman, please call the Boardman Local Schools Department of Student Services at 330-726-3411 or contact your building principal.
