The Boardman Envirothon team competed in Northeast Ohio's Envirothon competition on April 25. Forty five teams from throughout Northwest Ohio competed. Boardman won the event! They earned an all-expense paid trip to the State Envirothon Competition Sunday, June 9 - Tuesday, June 11 at Franciscan University of Steubenville.
The team won 4 out of 5 areas at the competition and received individual medallions in forestry, wildlife, soils, and aquatics. Perry High School came in 2nd and Chardon High School was 3rd. This will mark Boardman’s 8th appearance at the State level. The national competition will be this summer in North Carolina.
The Envirothon is a competition among high school students designed to enhance interest in the environment and natural resources. Throughout the competition, students are tested in the subject areas of soils, forestry, wildlife, aquatic ecology and current environmental issues.
