Boardman Welcomes New School Board Member

 In a special board meeting on August 28,  Boardman School Board voted to appoint Tom Varley as the newest member of the school board.  He will fill the seat vacated by Frank Zetts’s resignation, until December 31, 2025. 

Mr. Varley adds to the strong business experience already found on the Boardman School Board.  He is the Director of Human Resources for Compco Industries in Columbiana County, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functions of HR, and managing any personnel issues that arise.   

Varley and his wife, Kim, have resided in Boardman for 12 years.  Their daughter Alayna graduated from Boardman in 2022, their sons Tommy and Jayse currently attend the high school while their youngest daughter, Adalyn, attends Center Intermediate School.  

“I am just really excited to be part of this team so that I can experience our incredible school district from every angle. I've been involved in athletic youth programs, boosters, and fundraising for teacher grants.  This is an opportunity to work with a group of leaders focused on all of our Spartans’ success,” said Varley.
