Olympic Athlete Tyson Gay Spends Day With Spartans
Updated

World Class Olympic athlete and sprinter Tyson Gay spent the day at Boardman Spartan Stadium on August 17. He gave our student athletes advice and tips in the weight room and on the track.

Tyson has won 12 gold medals, 1 silver, and 1 bronze and remains tied as the national record holder for the 100 meter.

Orinally from Kentucky, he told his story about how sports helped him get to Arkansas State, and eventually took him around the world as an Olympic athlete. He encouraged our Spartans to be focused, to trust their training and relax through the fierce competition. He told them to set their goals and make yourself accountable ( even leaving notes that you make sure you see every day to stay focused)

Thank you to COMPCO industries for bringing this opportunity to Boardman.
