Link Crew is a high school transition program that welcomes freshmen and makes them feel comfortable. Built on the belief that students can help students succeed,this nationally recognized program trains mentors from the junior and senior classes to be Link Crew Leaders. A 4-hour orientation is offered the week before school begins each Fall. The mentor support that begins at orientation continues throughout the school year.
As positive role models, Link Crew Leaders guide the freshmen to discover what it takes to be successful during the transition to high school. Link Leaders are hand selected from a large pool of applicants and have met the qualifications of being good role models and positive leaders at BHS. Most are involved in multiple activities as Boardman offers 24 sports, 35 clubs and a wide array of art and music opportunities.
Research has shown Link Crew strategies improve school safety, promote anti-bullying and foster better academic performance.
