A group of 9 young musicians from Boardman Glenwood Junior High were selected to perform in the OMEA District 5 Middle School Honors Band Concert at Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown on Saturday, November 9.
Boardman’s 7th and 8th grade musicians were among 107 students involved from Mahoning, Trumbull and Ashtabula Counties, A special congratulations to Boardman 7th grader Jacob Cline, who was selected as principal chair Tenor Saxophone.
The Middle School Honors Band was conducted by renowned clinician, conductor and retired music educator James Dowdy. Dowdy is the former director of the Capital University Junior Winds and past president of the Ohio Music Education Association.
