Indoor Mask Policy Remains District Wide mask update graphic

Boardman School Board Members unanimously approved a recommendation on Monday, September 27,  to continue the indoor mask mandate until further notice.  This will be enforced for all students, staff and visitors to our buildings during school hours.

In the first 20 days of school, the district saw a marked improvement in reducing the number of quarantines from positive COVID cases. Currently, the district is averaging  one quarantine per positive case of COVID. On average last year, there were 5-7 quarantines per Covid case.

In addition to keeping students and staff safe, requiring masks greatly reduces the number of quarantines and allows students to stay in school for in-person learning.

We will continue to monitor case counts both statewide, and locally for an opportunity to reevaluate the need for the mask mandate.

Boardman School Board Approves Land Transfer To Pave the Way for Stormwater Park School board members with Superintendent Tim Saxton and Treasurer Armstrong

At a special joint meeting September 14, Boardman's School Board voted to transfer approximately 14.6 acres of land along Market Street to the ABC Water and Wastewater Authority.  It's a joint venture to create the Forest Lawn Stormwater Park.

The $3 Million dollar project will take two years to complete, and will include walking trails, pollinator gardens, and wildflower meadows.  Most importantly, it will alleviate flooding to some 1400 homes in the area.
