The 2026 Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches (OATCCC) Clinic marked an especially proud evening for Boardman Athletics, as several former athletes and coaches were recognized for their outstanding contributions to the sport and their lasting impact on the track and cross country community.
Coach DePietro was honored as a recipient of the OATCCC SEI Award for Sportsmanship, Ethics, and Integrity, a distinguished recognition that reflects his unwavering commitment to character, leadership, and the core values of athletics.
Adding to the celebration, Adriane Blewitt was officially inducted into the OATCCC Hall of Fame, recognizing her exceptional achievements and influence as a former athlete.
Coach Pavlansky received the Ed Barker Award, the highest honor bestowed by the OATCCC, recognizing a lifetime of excellence and service to Ohio track and cross country. Coach Pavlansky was also joined in this elite distinction by Coach Gorski and Coach Fox, making Boardman home to three Ed Barker Award recipients—a remarkable testament to the program’s sustained leadership and tradition of excellence.
In addition to stated recognitions, John Phillips was voted Boys Cross Country Coach of the Year, highlighting his dedication and success in leading student-athletes at the highest level.
“These honors are a powerful reflection of the legacy, leadership, and excellence that define Boardman Athletics,” said athletic director Jeff Hammerton. “We are incredibly proud of our former athletes and coaches and the impact they continue to make across the state.”
