State Swim Team

Let’s hear it for our Spartan swimmers who are headed to the Ohio High School Division I State Championships this Friday in Canton!

Coming off an incredible District meet, the girls placed 6th and the boys finished as District Runner-Up — the highest finish in the 40 years of the program's history! The Spartans broke three school records, qualified four relays, and are sending three individual swimmers to State for a total of 10 Swimmers punching their tickets to one of the fastest meets in the country.

For the girls, junior Alex Taylor qualified in the 100 Freestyle and rebreaking her own record in the 100 Backstroke. Her backstroke time is good enough to be an All-American Consideration time. Sophomore Rachel DunLany also qualified individually in the 200 Freestyle. The girls also qualified both the 200 Free Relay with swimmers Alex Taylor, Rachel DunLany, senior Julia Pickens, and junior Ella Miller, and the record-breaking 400 Free Relay with Ella Miller, Rachel DunLany, Aly Murray, and Alex Taylor.

For the boys, junior Zac Mihok automatically qualified in the 200 Freestyle and the 100 Backstroke, where he broke his own school record. The boys are also sending both the 200 Free Relay with juniors Zac Mihok, Lee Arent, Dom White, and Jack Benson, and the 400 Free Relay with Jack Benson, senior Samuel DiStefano, Dom White, and Zac Mihok after winning District titles in both events!

They begin competing Friday morning at 9 AM in Canton.
