Stadium Drive Elementary is celebrating a big boost for student readers after being randomly selected as one of eight schools across Ohio to receive the Lots of Literacy Award from the Ohio Lottery. Lottery officials came to deliver the prize March 25th.
The award supports the Governor’s Literacy Initiative and includes a $500 gift card from Barnes & Noble to enhance the school’s library. The award is designed to help Title 1 Elementary schools expand access to books and reading opportunities.
Librarian Elizabeth Murphy accepted the honor, along with two new bean bag chairs to create a cozy reading space for students.
