Boardman Center Intermediate School’s Kindness Club has been recognized for its impact in the community, receiving the “Rising Star” Award at the recent United Way Annual Meeting held at The Lake Club.
With more than 100 student members, the Kindness Club is dedicated to promoting compassion and service both inside and outside the school. Throughout the year, students have made multiple visits to the United Way Center on Market Street, where they helped organize food and supplies and pack bags for community members in need.
Principal DeAngelo and club advisor, school counselor Mindy DePietro, and School Board member Scot Murray attended the event alongside three student representatives to accept the award on behalf of the group.

The recognition highlights the club’s ongoing commitment to making a positive difference and supporting the Boardman community through acts of kindness and service.
