Longtime local educator and author Linda Krieger helped Robinwood Lane Elementary students celebrate Right to Read Week with a special visit centered around creativity, storytelling and a love of reading.
Krieger, who has written four children’s books featuring her two dogs Lilly and Livingston as the main characters, shared with students how stories are created and developed. She encouraged students to think about the things they know and love when creating their own ideas and explained how her experiences and affection for her pets inspired her books.
During the presentation, students learned about the process of building a story, developing characters and turning ideas into published books. Krieger also answered questions from students about writing and being an author.
The highlight of the visit came at the end, when students were surprised by a special appearance from Lilly and Livingston themselves, bringing the beloved storybook characters to life and creating an unforgettable experience for Robinwood students during Right to Read Week.
