BOARDMAN, OH — Boardman Subaru surprised teachers on September 9th at Boardman Glenwood Junior High School with a $15,000 donation and school supply kits to kick off the new school year.
The donation marks the 10th year of the partnership between the retailer and the school. Boardman alumnus and Boardman Subaru owner Rob Fellman and his team have supported Glenwood annually, providing help with the school's Natural Habitat Garden, science books and classroom supplies.
This year's donation was made through the Subaru Loves Learning® initiative in partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org® and will provide teachers with additional resources for their classrooms.
“Every year, for the past decade, Boardman Glenwood has been amazed by the generosity and support we've received from Rob Fellman and his team at Boardman Subaru,” said Principal Lori McCreery. “From help when we first planted our Natural Habitat Garden, to science books, school supplies and now a $15,000 donation for teachers to use in their classrooms—it's a wonderful way to begin the school year!”
Teacher Tom Basista said the donation will help educators meet the growing needs of their classrooms.
“This really helps us meet the needs as inflation is affecting everything, including school supplies and what we can do in our classrooms,” said Basista, who has taught for nearly 25 years.
For Fellman, giving back to Boardman Schools is personal.
“The school system, in all honesty, has been a big part of my success,” Fellman said. “Education makes a community better, gives people a head start in life, and helps people accomplish great things.”
Boardman Schools thanks Rob Fellman and the entire Boardman Subaru team for a decade of generosity and continued support of Boardman students and teachers.
