Orchestra seniors posed in front of the Boardman Performing Arts Center

The Boardman High School Orchestra Department invites the community to its annual Pops Concert Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m. at the Boardman Performing Arts Center. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

The concert will feature performances by the BHS Classical Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra, showcasing classical works by Sibelius, Mozart and Britten, along with popular music from artists such as Michael Jackson.

The evening also will feature a sneak preview of Project Mayhem, Boardman’s student rock orchestra, performing a special tribute to country music icon Dolly Parton and her beloved hits.

“Our students have been working incredibly hard to prepare a show that bridges traditional orchestral music with modern pop and rock culture,” said Michele Prokop, director of orchestras at Boardman High School.

Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students. Children 10 and younger and senior citizens are free. Proceeds support the BHS Orchestra program.
