11 high school students dressed in black for choral performance on stage

Eleven Boardman High School students and five Glenwood Junior High School students represented Boardman Local Schools at the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) District 5 Honors Choir on October 23–24 at Stambaugh Auditorium.

The event brought together some of the most talented student singers from three counties and 22 school districts for an opportunity to perform in an honors choir experience.

The high school choir was led by internationally renowned choral composer and arranger Jack Zaino, while the junior high choir was directed by Dr. Timothy Little-Tran, Director of Choirs at Slippery Rock University.

Boardman’s student singers represented their schools with pride, showcasing their talent, hard work and dedication to choral music. Adding to the celebration, Boardman High School’s own Tony Worley-Gavitt was selected to perform a solo for a packed audience!

Congratulations to all 16 Boardman students on this outstanding accomplishment and for representing Boardman’s choral department so well!
