Township Trustee Larry Moliterno with Band Director Tim Tuite holding proclamation and the proclamation typed with a seal

The sounds of a century of Spartan music filled the Boardman Performing Arts Center on October 24 as the Boardman High School Band presented its annual “Band in Concert” performance. The evening brought together the talented musicians and ensembles that make up marching season, celebrating another outstanding year of music and tradition.

The concert began with a special surprise: a proclamation from the Boardman Township Board of Trustees honoring the Boardman Band’s 100-year history. Township Trustee Larry Moliterno presented the proclamation, recognizing the generations of students, directors, educators, families, alumni, and supporters who have shaped the program’s legacy.

The proclamation officially designated October 2, 2026, as the 100th anniversary of the Boardman Band and recognized the important role music education has played in enriching students’ educational experiences and fostering school spirit and pride throughout the township.

The milestone has been celebrated throughout the fall, including a special Homecoming halftime performance on October 2 that brought more than 300 alumni back together to honor generations of Spartan musicians.

The October 24 concert continued that celebration, showcasing the musicianship, dedication, and teamwork that keep Boardman’s musical traditions alive. The Band’s legacy remains a source of pride for the school district and the entire community.
